Tool 11

I would like for my students to make a digital portfolio starting the first year they take art and the following years to show their growth as an artist. Great way to keep records of their work and be able to share it with their families.

2. I will definitely have to make changes to my classroom. One of many problems is the size of the classroom. Not enough room as it is right now to have the amount of students that I have much less trying to set up some kind of technology center.

3. I learned several things from this exercise. The ease of incorporating different technology in to the classroom and the many ways that my students can learn and create with it.

Tool 10

1. Students should be made familiar with proper netiquette and what is involved with it. What is online harassment and how to recognize it and deal with it properly. I think plagiarism is something students must be made aware of and how to avoid it.

2. The Texas School Safety Center looks like it could be a good resource on different topics related to the internet.

3. I think one thing that needs to be taught to students is that just because you read it on a website doesn't necessarily make it true. Investigate further.

4. Helping parents be aware of what students are doing in class and online. Making sure they are aware of district/classroom policies.

Tool 9

1.I think incorporating technology in the classroom helps pull the reluctant learner in with engaging the student in a different way.

2. Students should be held accountable while working at stations for several reasons. First to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be working on. Second, to make sure the technology is being used correctly and being taken care of in a responsible manner.

3. I have just started investigating all the different apps that are available. One that I have just started using is Picnic. It seems easier to edit photos than other applications. MasterpieceMe looks interesting. I think any program that allows the students to interact with it is sure to make students want to participate.

4. Any of the apps that allow students to produce a finished product could be shared in their digital portfolio or with other students and teachers. Sharing those finished products would be a way to hold students accountable.

5. Students could use the station as a way of looking up possible subject matter to include in their work. What some particular object looks like - they could look up different images.

Tool 8

I am concerned about the time to find to sync the devices. I'm sure I will figure out something to make it easier. I'm glad to know that I will not have to use my own personal Itunes account but will be able to set it up using my school email.

I am excited about having access to the Ipad 2's. This will make it much easier to take pictures of student's work to upload onto Artsonia and for students to make a digital portfolio.

Tool 7

I plan to collaborate with another art teacher to get students to do the teaching of a particular art process. We could use Skype to connect to each other's classroom and for viewing the students end product.

Tool 6

I am using Blogger to post my blogs. I do think that blogging is a great way to share what is going on in the classroom. I have found many blogs from art teachers that have been helpful to me. I think as I become more comfortable in blogging - I hope my blog will be helpful to others.

I have used Google Docs as a way to share documents with other teachers. I think the only drawback is the time that is needed to use all of the tools.

Tool 5

Wordle: Need to know

Wordle could be used to review or introduce new vocabulary or procedures used in the classroom.

Make your own photo slideshow at Animoto.

Animoto could be a fun way to show student's art work from years past or as an online portfolio.
