1. Students should be made familiar with proper netiquette and what is involved with it. What is online harassment and how to recognize it and deal with it properly. I think plagiarism is something students must be made aware of and how to avoid it.
2. The Texas School Safety Center looks like it could be a good resource on different topics related to the internet.
3. I think one thing that needs to be taught to students is that just because you read it on a website doesn't necessarily make it true. Investigate further.
4. Helping parents be aware of what students are doing in class and online. Making sure they are aware of district/classroom policies.
You raised some very interesting issues about online etiquette, netiquette. I agree that parents must be aware of what students are doing in class to partner with the teachers for a better tomorrow.
